The Beanie Baby of the Month (BBOM) program was a subscription service that you signed up for, on a yearly basis, to receive a ‘surprise’ beanie each month in the mail.  Sometimes non-subscribers wanted to join in partway through the year, and you could, but it often didn’t take effect until 1 or 2 months later.

BBOM Beanies had a special button/badge on their bodies.

The program ran for 5 years: 2003 – 2007, so 60 Beanies in total were produced. This was the only way you could get those beanies, and if you weren’t signed up for them in advance, you had to get them on the secondary market. They were never available at retail stores.
