Old Face Teddies should ALWAYS have V shaped seams on the back of the head.  A straight line means fake.  This ONLY applies to the Old Face Teddies and NOT the New Face.  These teddies are always dated 1993 and only come with a 1st gen black & white tush tag.

Humphrey The Camel will NEVER have 2 tones eyes.  They will ALWAYS be solid black.  This beanie is always dated 1993 and only comes with a 1st gen black & white tush tag.

Wingless Quacker / Quackers No Wings.  This beanie will always be dated 1993 and have a 1st gen white with black lettering tush tag.  The swing tag will almost always be attached just below the bill.  If you see one attached on the side ask a lot of questions because most of the time it will be fake.

If you see a 2nd generation swing tag with LTD in all caps on the inside left it is a fake tag.  It should read Ltd.

If you see a 2nd generation swing tag with the date of 1983 it Is fake.  Beanie Babies were not even in production at that time and it was not an error.

The red stamp on the inside of the later generation tush tags is nothing more than the factory where it was produced.  It does not make it rare.

Just about every Beanie Baby produced through 2000 was counterfeited.
